Mike Haney
Mike Haney founded Black Dog Cellars in 2009 to begin to follow his dream of owning his own wine label and producing outstanding world-class wines.
As owner and "Big Dog" of Black Dog Cellars his enthusiasm and passion for wine and the lifestyle and memories it helps to create motivate him each day to produce wines that speak to the passion and enthusiasm for wine, food, family and friends that Black Dog Cellars is dedicated to each day.
Based in the beautiful Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, Black Dog Cellars specializes in small boutique case lots of Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Chardonnay.
Also enthusiastically involved within the community, Mike and Black Dog Cellars partner with local animal related non profit organizations and groups in each city/state Black Dog Cellars is distributed to in order to assist and help enhance the lives of dogs and pets within our communities.
In addition, over the years Mike has served on numerous wine related board of directors including the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation as well as nine years on the board of directors and three years as Executive Director of l’Ete du Vin, America’s original and oldest charity wine auction and events.
Mike is often invited to act as a wine judge at various events and festivals across the United States and has served as chairperson for a wide variety of wine auctions and events including the Taste of the Napa Valley Grand Tasting.
Mike is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs and The Commanderie de Bordeaux.
